The New Balance FuelCell Supercomp Trail v2 is a generational update to the offroad iteration of the top-end SuperComp running shoe.
The upper combines mesh and welded overlays to provide both ventilation and protection on the trails. Inside, the tongue is gusseted to keep the foot in place. Underneath is where all of the magic happens. A FuelCell midsole sandwiches a carbon fiber plate—New Balance calls it Energy Arc—for propulsion and energy return. Under that is a lugged rubber sole from Vibram’s Megagrip line for supreme traction on all surfaces.
