With a midsole clocking-in at 35mm, this is the lowest stack Nike Vaporfly yet—a long way from the trends of previous years and testament to the development Nike has made on ZoomX foam and plate technology. The Flyplate has been completely reworked, featuring a refined curvature to deliver fantastic performance in the latest spec. These changes are the main driver behind the Vaporfly 4 being 10% lighter than the Vaporfly 3, making it the lightest Vaporfly ever.

Plus, a new upper made with an updated engineered mesh structure ensures breathability and comfort. 

This design is part of the Ekiden collection. "Ekiden" (駅伝) is a Japanese word which refers to the unique sport of long-distance relay racing. Ekiden could be roughly translated as ''station to station''. The original meaning of the word is reflected in race rules, where each runner at the end of their run has to pass a sash to the next runner.
